Local Living Festival
August 1, 2015
We are writing to you as a leader in our North Country community, seeking your financial support in 2015 for a dynamic community effort and an important regional event.
The fourth semi-annual Local Living Festival: A Celebration of Resourceful Living is being coordinated by three local organizations: the Local Living Venture, United Helpers Sustainability Committee and the Village of Canton Sustainability Committee.
We will celebrate the Festival on September 26, 2015 at our brand new location in the heart of downtown Canton, in the Village Green (formerly held at the Cornell Cooperative Extension Learning Farm.)
This event brings together large numbers of people from across northern New York. Based on numbers that have attended in previous years, we expect that attendance will top 10% of Canton-Potsdam area residents!
The Festival features local and nationally recognized authors and speakers, as well as more than forty educational seminars and workshops on topics including energy conservation, traditional agricultural skills, appropriate technology, forest management, and healthy eating. Dozens of exhibitors will share information and resources on these topics within twenty different Theme Pavilions and there will be a multitude of demonstrations and skills-building activities for all ages - the Children's Pavilion will be abuzz all day with exciting educational activities.
The Local Living Festival is truly an excellent opportunity to highlight your company’s commitment to a more capable and sustainable North Country community while reaching a significant and motivated portion of the population. A chart of Major Sponsorship Benefits can be found at this link.
The Local Living Venture also offers a year-round schedule of skills-building workshops and events; a resource-laden website that receives over 1500 all-local hits per month; and, bi-weekly mailings to 3,000+ North Country residents. Your support for this upcoming large event can work for you throughout the year!
The Local Living Venture enjoys the benefits of a 501(c)3 not-for-profit educational status. As such, your support is tax deductible.
Please join other leading community organizations in supporting our service to the St. Lawrence River Valley and Adirondack foothills. With your help, we can expand awareness of regional and local issues, while enhancing the quality of life and economic well-being of northern New York!
Please see the attached page for sponsorship information and other ways you can help. Also, feel free to call us with any questions you may have. We hope to see you at the Local Living Festival or at one of the many educational programs and workshops held throughout the year!
