Thrift Map Rejuvenation Project
The Thrift Map Project is a way to help local residents find places to bring their old items and to help everyone save money - and resources! - by using thrift shops instead of buying new!  November 15 is a national Textile Recycling and recovery day --  the LLV is a partner in a project to make it a year-round possibility in the North Country!  Your help is welcome in one of several ways:

Check out the current map, in need of updating, at this page.  Your participation in this project will be as a helper to our assigned staff who are responsible to:
  • Contact thrift stores to participate in the Textile Recycling project and
  • To recruit them to advertise on the Map, if you are are dynamic in this way
  • Update the map for the webpage if you are perhaps more skilled in this way!
  • Print the Map and Key onto a tri-fold display board
  • Present the tri-fold display board at many public events!
  • Help write press releases to promote the project
  • Other creative ideas for promoting the re-use and recycling of clothing, appliances and home furnishings - SO MUCH is thrown out every day, this is huge!

Workshop Creation

Be creative!  What do YOU either know a lot about or would like to know more about - pitch your idea to us and let's see if we can make it fly!  Also, can this fit into your coursework as an Intern project or extra credit?  If you would like some help with ideas, check out this page - but don't feel limited to what you see there, try to think outside the box about things people in our area would want to learn about in order to live more simply, healthfully, economically, and in more environmentally friendly ways!

TAKE ACTION
